We produce military products that require light parts and use aluminum materials. Because it is used outdoors, the surface of custom aluminum machined parts is easy to oxidize. In order to solve this problem, there is a risk of hidden dangers in the performance of custom aluminum machining parts. We conducted trial and error. The summary factors are as follows:
1. Cutting fluid problem:
During the processing of customized aluminum parts, due to other chemical components in the cutting fluid, the surface of the customized aluminum parts is corroded, and sand holes are formed after oxidation. The atomization test effect is less than 24 hours, which triggers sand holes around the customized aluminum parts. That produces blackening.
2. The thickness of the oxide film:
The thickness of the oxide film is the key when oxidizing custom aluminum machining parts. We tested the thickness of the oxide film at 5uM, the salt spray produced black in about 24 hours, and the salt spray test of the custom aluminum machining parts with the oxide film thickness of 7um appeared in about 36 hours. Bad blackening.
3. The problem of sealing treatment after oxidation
Even if the oxide film thickness appears to be 8uM. But the sealing treatment after oxidation of the custom aluminum machining parts is also very important. We used a high temperature sealing above 65℃ for more than 25 minutes.
The test result of its customized aluminum machined parts can be more than 96 hours in salt spray.
Based on the above experiments, the pain points of custom aluminum machining parts have been solved. We are very fulfilled. The above sharing will prevent everyone from making detours!
